Some times people ask "David, why are you so gung-ho about film? It's so 1980's!" To you, my only reply is the following pictures.
Shot on Kodak BW400CN (pushed to 1600) on a Bronica ETRSi. These are straight out of the camera, absolutely no post processing except minimal dust removal.
P.S. If anyone hangs out with this guy tell him I said I wouldn't mind shooting him in the face sometime.
These have a really epic feeling, similar to the descriptions I've heard of the show. Well done David!
ReplyDeleteNice set!
ReplyDeleteI get the guys at the "pro" lab always asking if I've ever considered shooting digital. My answer is always, "Yes. Now can you process these rolls of film without screwing them up this time?"
Hey didn't Kodak discontinue the 400CN in 120? Not that anyone is excited about that. Well, except for the guys at the lab.
Yeah, they did discontinue it. Only 35mm left. These are some rolls I found on eBay.
ReplyDeleteWhat lab do you go to? Get a hold of me if you need a different lab. I know of 2 REALLY good ones.
Oh, and thank you Ashley, it was epic. And I don't even like Jonsi. Angie just dragged me along.
ReplyDeleteI usually just take my C41/E6 to Allen's in Orem since it's two minutes from my house. I'd love to find another (better) lab... Isn't there a place in Springville?
ReplyDeleteIf you want AMAZING scans back from perfectly developed negatives, send it to Richard Photo Lab in Hollywood. The prices are decent. www.richardphotolab.com
ReplyDeleteOr if your interested in local, contact Jonathan Canlas about how much he charges for developing. I don't know the exact amounts, but it is cheaper that Richards, but you will have to do more dust removal on the scans. His lab is in Orem. jonathan@jonathancanlasphotography.com
PS - That guy is a film GOD
